End of Vehicle Pursuit, Subject has Gunshot Wound

Independence Police had a subject run on foot from a vehicle pursuit near Westport Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard. During the foot pursuit, the officer heard a gunshot but wasn’t sure where it came from. The subject was finally apprehended and police discovered the subject had a gunshot wound to his leg. It’s possible the subject running had a firearm accidentally discharge. All officers involved were reported to be fine.
