An Independence woman who went missing on August 13th was located deceased near 40 highway and Lake Tapawingo in Blue Springs. Rachel Gillmore was last seen leaving the 12400 block of E. 46th Street in Independence and was supposed to be traveling to a scheduled doctors appointment.
This missing person case is being investigated by the IPD Criminal Investigations Unit. The crash investigation is being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
