The Independence Missouri Police Department is asking for the publics help regarding an unsolved homicide that occurred on September 19, 2020 at approximately 3:40 a.m. near 13th & Brookside Avenue. A 37 year old transgender woman was found deceased from a gunshot wound in a grassy area. This six month old case is still unsolved and detectives continue to ask the public for assistance.
