Pedestrian Fatality Hit and Run at Sterling & Blue Ridge

Independence Police are investigating a vehicle vs pedestrian crash that occurred at about 11:15 PM last night. A silver sedan was traveling southbound on Sterling near Blue Ridge Blvd when it struck three pedestrians who were crossing the roadway. The silver sedan fled the scene. One of the pedestrians, a male, died at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not be released pending notification of family. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Independence Police Department at (816) 325-7300. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
