Homicide Victim Dropped Off, Left at Centerpoint Medical Center

At around 12:30 AM on Monday 6/21/2021, IPD officers were called to an area hospital located in the 19600 block of E. 39th Street on a subject who was dropped off near the ambulance entrance with a gunshot wound to the head. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but the subject was pronounced deceased a short time later. The victim has been identified as Ales L. Carr, a 30-year-old female, from Kansas City, MO. At this time, the shooting is believed to have occurred at a residence in Independence MO. Police say this is an active homicide investigation being handled by their Criminal Investigations Unit.
