Independence Police responded to a shooting around at 9:14 p.m. at a residence in the 200 block of E. Walnut. Officers located a juvenile with a gunshot wound. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased. Police are currently working closely with the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office on the case.
