Homicide at 25th & Sterling

Homicide Investigation at E. 25th St and S. Sterling Ave.

At about 11:42 PM this evening (02-20-19), police officers responded to an aggravated assault/shooting call in the 2500 block of South Sterling Avenue.

When they arrived, they located a deceased person inside the residence. Numerous subjects have been detained. We have information that persons involved in this incident may still be in the area and we want those in the immediate neighborhood to be aware.

This is still an active investigation with officers, detectives and crime scene units still in the area. S. Sterling Avenue has been shut down South of E. 23rd St. to E. 27th St. We will open the roadway as soon as possible. Please avoid the area.

The identity of the deceased will be released after family or next of kin has been notified.
