Independence police are on scene of a shooting at the Amtrak Station in the 1100 block of W Pacific Avenue. Around 9:19 p.m. they received a call that a person had been shot in an Amtrak car. Officers discovered one victim upon arrival. Lifesaving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful. It was discovered that the shooting took place at the Lee’s Summit Amtrak station near 3rd and Main but they Amtrak continued on to its next stop in Independence. Lees Summit police officers are also on the scene assisting IPD with the investigation.
