At least one person was shot at the Independence Center this evening. Off-duty police officers were working an off-duty security detail and heard the shots fired around 5:13 pm. A subject was located moment later with a gunshot wound to the leg. Life saving medical air was rendered. The subject, a 16 year old male was transported to an area hospital. One other subject was detained.
