Independence Police Say Human Remains Located in Unincorporated Grain Valley

Independence police say human remains were located Wednesday during the search of a property in Grain Valley related to a missing person’s case.

Multiple law enforcement vehicles were present on the property in the 4000 block of Buckner Tarsney Road in unincorporated Grain Valley where machines were used to dig in what appeared to be specific locations.

An update later in the day from law enforcement announced human remains had been found related to a missing persons case but they didn’t specify the name of the subject or where the person was missing from. Independence police officer John Syme indicated the victim’s family had been notified. It is presumed that the missing persons case may have originated in Independence given the fact Independence was on scene and released this statement.
